Abstract

[EN] This article establishes a comparison between two architects of the 20th century and their particular background and training. Both develop their main profession achieving international recognition that remains years after his disappearance. They have been able to focus their assignments in the field of architecture and design in a similar way, extending concepts of the discipline itself such as construction, materials, function, utility, ... Applying the meaning of the word «Project» in a global way to all its production. We will discover that the similarities in the paths that run throughout his professional life can be responsible for his particular way of understanding the craft of the architect. In particular, we focus on the field of furniture design, and the unique look of each, to gain a better understanding of some of these relationships

[ES] En este artículo se establece una comparación entre dos arquitectos del s. XX y su particular bagaje y formación. Ambos desarrollan su profesión principal logrando un reconocimiento internacional que se mantiene años después de su desaparición. Han sido capaces de enfocar sus encargos en el campo de la arquitectura y el diseño de un modo similar, extendiendo conceptos de la propia disciplina como construcción, materiales, función, utilidad, ¿, aplicando el sentido de la palabra «Proyecto» de un modo global a toda su producción. Descubriremos que, las semejanzas en los caminos que recorren a lo largo de su vida profesional, pueden ser responsables de su particular forma de entender el oficio del arquitecto. En particular, nos centraremos en el campo del diseño del mobiliario, y la singular mirada de cada uno, para comprender mejor algunas de estas relaciones
