En busca de la arquitectura elemental.Economía formal y material en la vivienda del siglo XXI

Abstract

[ES] Las crisis financieras de los últimos años han representado un golpe de realidad para la arquitectura de nuestro tiempo. Los focos de editoriales y revistas especializadas han abierto su espectro para dejar ver ejemplos terrenales de nuestra profesión. Además de edificios icónicos, hemos podido apreciar la arquitectura del día a día. Cuando el objetivo es dar cobijo a la población, la economía y la eficiencia entran en juego. Es sabido que ante toda problemática, siempre surge una nueva oportunidad. En este caso, la oportunidad de dejar de lado una arquitectura ensimismada y omnipotente para dirigirnos hacia una arquitectura directa y concisa que logre respuestas eficientes para la gente que la habita.

Esta investigación trata esa realidad: arquitectura elemental y económica que surge del hastío y agotamiento respecto a la arquitectura oficial y mediática. Una arquitectura que busca solucionar los diversos problemas de la vida cotidiana de una manera práctica y eficiente. Partiendo del estudio de los orígenes de esta corriente, se llega al análisis de quince obras actuales (12 casas unifamiliares y 3 multifamiliares) de diferentes latitudes para terminar extrayendo un resumen de estrategias exitosas respecto a ese campo.

[EN] The financial crises of recent years have represented a blow of reality to the architecture of our time. Publishing houses and specialized magazines have widened their spectrum to reveal earthly examples of our profession. In addition to iconic buildings, we have been able to appreciate workaday architecture. When the objective is to shelter the population, economy and efficiency come into play. It is known that problems bring opportunities. In this case, the opportunity to set aside a frivolous and empty architecture to move towards a direct and concise architecture that achieves efficient responses for the people who inhabit it.

This research deals with that reality: fundamental and affordable architecture that arises due to a sense of weariness regarding official and media architecture. An architecture that seeks to solve the various problems of everyday life in a practical and efficient way. Starting from the study of the origins of this movement, continuing with the analysis of fifteen current works (12 single-family houses and 3 multi-family houses) from different latitudes to finish with a summary of successful strategies regarding this field.
