Joan Fontcuberta y Orogénesis: los paisajes alfanuméricos

Abstract

[EN] There is no doubt that Joan Fontcuberta (Barcelona, 1955) is a reference in terms of photographic image and its truthfulness. In this sense, the artist points out that "every photograph is a fiction that is presented as true". However, in the present text, in addition to referring to this interesting question, our objective is to analyze a specific project by Joan Fontcuberta, with the title Orogénesis, where a series of natural landscapes are the result of a computer program.

[ES] No cabe duda de que Joan Fontcuberta (Barcelona, 1955) es un referente en lo que respecta a la imagen fotográfica y su veracidad. En este sentido, el artista señala que "toda fotografía es una ficción que se presenta como verdadera". No obstante, en el presente texto, además de hacer alusión a esta interesante cuestión, nuestro objetivo es el de analizar un proyecto concreto de Joan Fontcuberta, el titulado Orogénesis, donde una serie de paisajes naturales son el fruto de un programa informático.
