Arquitectura para la séptima etapa: Aberdeen

Abstract

[ES] Aberdeen es una ciudad de más de 200.000 habitantes ubicada en la costa noreste de Escocia, que por ahora cuenta con un 20% de la población con más de 60 años, pero que, en el 2050 aumentará por encima del 40% según los datos estadísticos del país. Ahora es el momento de desarrollar un proyecto como este, en el que la arquitectura destaca la "afirmatividad" de los mayores y potencia sus cualidades a través de espacios adaptados de viviendas, de ocio o de relación, con una propuesta efectiva y positiva, ajustada a las necesidades próximas de este colectivo, así como favorecedora de una relación directa con el entorno, tanto social como físico, que los lleva a estar más conectados con el ritmo diario de la ciudad. 2020 puede ser el inicio de la época de esplendor de la arquitectura para la séptima etapa, pues al igual que los niños, los mayores también forman parte de un futuro posible, activo y creativo, gracias al avance de la medicina y de las nuevas tecnologías.

[EN] Aberdeen is a city of more than 200.000 inhabitants located in the north-east coast of Scotland. For now, has only 20% of the population over 60 years old, but in 2050 this will increase over the 40% according to statistics. Now is the moment to work out and develop a project like this, were architecture highlights the "afirmativity" of elderly and promotes its qualities through adapted spaces, leisure or relation areas, with an effective and positive proposal according to the nearby needs of this collective, as well as the relation with the surroundings, both social and physical, that leads them to be more connected to the daily life of the city. 2020 could be the beginning of an age of splendor for the 7th phase architecture, since together with children, elderly are also part of an active and creative possible future, thanks to the advances in medicine and new technologies.
