El Castillo-Palacio de los Centelles i Riu-Sech: Vestigios del edificio primitivo.

Abstract

[ES] El Castillo-palacio de los Centelles en Oliva fue uno de los máximos exponentes de la construcción valenciana en la Edad Moderna. Desde que en el siglo XIII se construyera la Torre Mestral, elemento primitivo del conjunto, el castillo-palacio fue evolucionando hasta llegar a su máximo esplendor durante el siglo XVI. En la actualidad, el palacio se encuentra absorbido por el tejido residencial de centro histórico de principios del siglo XX.

A pesar de las continuas transformaciones sufridas, todavía persiten testigos construidos que hablan de su configuración original y del gran abanico de técnicas constructivas utilizadas en el gótico civil valenciano y en sus posteriores transformaciones.

El estudio se centra en la identificación y caracterización de los restos conservados del castillo-palacio y en el estudio de la documentación histórica y gráfica existente del mismo. De esta forma se pretende conocer la configuración y evolución del edificio a lo largo de su historia.

[EN] The Castle-palace of the Centelles at Oliva was one of the most important examples of valencian construction at the Middle Edges. Since the construction of the Mestral Tower in the 13th century, the primitive element of the construction, the castle-palace was evolving until reaching its maximum splendor in the 16th century. Currently, the palace is absorbed by the residential part of the historic city center, build during the early 20th century.

Despite the continuous transformations suffered, there are still built witnesses that speak of its original configuration and of the wide range of construction techniques used in the valencian civil gothic and its subsequent transformations.

The study focuses on the identification and characterization of the preserved remains of the castle-palace and on the study of the historical and graphic documentation of the building. In this way, it is intended to know the configuration and evolution of the building throughout its history.

[CA] El Castell-palau dels Centelles a Oliva va ser un dels màxims exponents de la construcció valenciana durant l’Edat Moderna. Des que en el segle XIII es va construir la Torre Mestral, element primitiu del conjunt, el castell-palau va anar evolucionant fins a arribar al seu màxim esplendor durant el segle XVI. En l’actualitat, el palau es troba absorbit pel teixit residencial del centre històric de principis del segle XX. A pesar de les contínues transformacions sofrides, encara es conserven testimonis construïts que parlen de la seua configuració original i del gran ventall de tècniques constructives utilitzades en el gòtic civil valencià i en les seues posteriors transformacions. L’estudi se centra en la identificació i caracterització de les restes conservades del castell-palau i en l’estudi de la documentació històrica i gràfica existent d’aquest. D’aquesta manera es pretén conéixer la configuració i evolució de l’edifici al llarg de la seua història.
