Abstract

[ES] ¿Pueden MODA y ARQUITECTURA transformarse entre ellas?

Se pueden tratar estas dos disciplinas de forma diferente en cuanto a la parte técnica se refiere pero lo cierto es que hay algo muy similar en ellas. Las dos forman parte del mundo del arte, un mundo con mucha historia y diferentes etapas, el cual ha ido evolucionando a lo largo de los años. Son ideas y pensamientos conceptuales que se componen en nuestra mente y acaban materializándose de maneras diferentes con un fin, cambiar la vida de las personas. Con ello, somos capaces de sentir emociones, que es lo que el arte entiende como objetivo. Lo bueno de ellas es que existe una gran variedad de estilos debido siempre a la subjetividad de cada uno, nunca es algo objetivo, pues la belleza no es algo que se logre sin la expresión de las vivencias de cada uno, cada individuo es diferente y por tanto, tendremos opiniones diferentes, ya que nuestra verdad y nuestra idea de lo bello reside en nosotros mismos.

Arquitectos y diseñadores de moda se someten a procesos de diseño semejantes. Ambos trabajan con escala, geometría, textura, color, ornamentación, llenos y vacíos, y ambos están usando cada vez más la tecnología.

La arquitectura necesita una función para estar viva y mostrar un producto artístico puede ser una de esas funciones. La moda necesita un lugar para poder expresarse y darse a conocer al público. En este caso, ese lugar se adapta al mercado para ofrecer a las personas un producto. La arquitectura se convierte en el hogar de la moda. Es por ello, que se ponen en juego sus influencias recíprocas a lo largo de la historia. Podemos ver cómo ese hogar se adapta y evoluciona con un estilo de ropa concreto que en muchas ocasiones ha sido inspirado por movimientos artísticos ya sean arquitectónicos o no.

[EN] Can FASHION and ARCHITECTURE transform each other?

These two disciplines can be treated differently as far as the technical part is concerned but the truth is that there is something very similar in them. Both are part of the art world, a world with a lot of history and different stages, which has evolved over the years. They are conceptual ideas and thoughts that are made up in our minds and end up materializing in different ways with the aim of changing people's lives. With this, we are able to feel emotions, which is what art understands as an objective. The good thing about them is that there is a great variety of styles due always to the subjectivity of each one, it is never something objective, because beauty is not something that is achieved without the expression of the experiences of each one, each individual is different and therefore, we will have different opinions, because our truth and our idea of beauty resides in ourselves.

Architects and fashion designers work similar design processes. Both work with scale, geometry, texture, color, ornamentation, volume and voids, and both are increasingly using technology.

Architecture needs a function to be alive and displaying an artistic product can be one of those functions. Fashion needs a place to express itself and make itself known to the public. In this case, that place adapts to the market to offer people a product. Architecture becomes the home of fashion. For this reason, their reciprocal influences throughout history are brought into play. We can see how that home adapts and evolves with a specific clothing style that has often been inspired by artistic movements, whether architectural or not.
