Green Building Council Mediterráneo, observatorio de desarrollo sostenible.

Abstract

[ES] El Green Building Council o más conocido por las siglas GBC, es una asociación sin ánimo de lucro cuyo objetivo principal es contribuir a la transformación hacia un mundo más sostenible, más en concreto hacia todo lo relativo a la sostenibilidad en la edificación. Para lograr ese fin, se centra en tres objetivos o medios para conseguirlo que son: la educación, investigación y difusión.

Para poder llevar a cabo todas estas acciones, el GBC necesita lugar físico donde se ejecuten y puedan representar a todo el sector Mediterráneo. Por ello, se decide crear una nueva sede (GBCm) que se encuentra ubicada en Valencia y dará voz y difusión a todo lo relacionado con el desarrollo sostenible.

La ubicación del proyecto junto al puerto de Valencia y el propio programa plantean una gran oportunidad no sólo en la mejora del entorno más próximo debido a su carácter conflictivo, si no a nivel de la propia ciudad. El edificio pretende transformarse en un centro de referencia hacia lo sostenible, donde su principal objetivo es poder investigar y transmitir todos los conocimientos sobre ello.

[EN] The Green Building Council or also known by the acronym GBC, is a non-profit association whose main objective is to contribute to the transformation towards a more sustainable world, more specifically towards everything related to sustainability in building. To that end, it focuses on three objectives or means to achieve it: education, research and dissemination.

In order to carry out all these actions, GBC needs a physical location where they can be executed and represent the entire Mediterranean sector. Therefore, it is decided to create a new headquarters (GBCm) that is located in Valencia and will give voice and dissemination to everything related to sustainable development.

The location of the project next to the port of Valencia and the program itself present a great opportunity not only in the improvement of the closest environment due to its conflicting nature, but also at the level of the city itself. The building aims to become a center of reference towards sustainability, where its main objective is to be able to investigate and transmit all the knowledge about it.
