Huerta y activismo, ARA

Abstract

[ES] En este trabajo de final de grado se va a realizar un estudio teórico-práctico sobre el deterioro que ha venido sufriendo la huerta valenciana en las últimas décadas, por pérdida de espacio ante la expansión del área urbana de la ciudad de Valencia y por el abandono de la actividad agrícola, entre otros factores. Históricamente la ciudad de Valencia ha estado rodeada de un fértil terreno agrícola cultivado, la huerta, que le ha dado un carácter singular a la ciudad, sin embargo, en el último tercio del siglo XX, con los cambios económicos y sociales, la huerta ha ido perdiendo terreno ante el crecimiento urbanístico de la ciudad, destruyendo algunos de estos espacios emblemáticos de la capital como la huerta de Campanar. El hilo conductor de este proyecto se centra en postulados reivindicativos de denuncia social ante el serio problema de la desaparición de la huerta, con la finalidad de despertar la conciencia del público en general, así como de las Administraciones, ante la desaparición inminente de un patrimonio cultural sometido a una crisis urbanística sin precedentes. Concretamente nos centraremos desde el análisis de trabajos plásticos de artistas sensibilizados por este tema, a comportamientos próximos al activismo de algunos grupos clandestinos, como por ejemplo ARA.

[EN] In this end-of-degree thesis, a theoretical-practical study will be carried out on the deterioration that the Valencian "horta" has suffered in recent decades, due to loss of space in favour of the expansion of the urban area of the city of Valencia and also owing to the abandonment of agricultural activity, among other factors. Historically the city of Valencia has been surrounded by fertile cultivated agricultural land, the ¿horta¿, which has given the city a unique character, however, in the last third of the twentieth century, due to economic and social changes, the ¿horta¿ has been losing ground in favour of the urban growth of the city, destroying some of this emblematic spaces of the capital such as the ¿horta de Campanar¿.

The common thread of this project focuses on the vindictive postulate for social denunciation against the serious problem of the disappearance of the ¿horta¿, in order to raise the awareness of the general public as well as of the Administration of the imminent disappearance of a cultural heritage subjected to an unprecedented urban crisis. Specifically, we will focus on several aspects from the analysis of plastic works created by artists who are sensitized by this subject, to behaviours close to the activism of some clandestine groups, such as ¿ARA¿.
