Centro de formación profesional en Torrente.

Abstract

[ES] Debido a su proximidad y buena comunicación con Valencia, la ciudad de Torrent ha crecido a lo largo de los últimos 50 años buscando su conversión en ciudad dormitorio. La mala planificación ha provocado el crecimiento descontrolado y carente de estructura, limitado únicamente por las barreras físicas del barranco por el norte, el encuentro con el Vedat por el sur y las vías del tren por el este. Por ello, durante la última década ha intentado revertirse esta situación mediante la mejora de infraestructuras y la explotación del potencial latente, con nuevos proyectos urbanísticos que reclaman la individualidad de la ciudad. Esto unido a una mejor accesibilidad a vivienda respecto a la ciudad de Valencia hacen prever un nuevo aumento en la población. El crecimiento natural de la ciudad se produciría por el margen este una vez se eliminen las barreras físicas al enterrar las vías del tren. Sobre esta huella se plantea la creación de un parque lineal que conecte el abandonado centro urbano con las nuevas y modernas zonas, mucho más dinámicas. El nuevo borde proporciona el soporte para la inserción de equipamientos, necesarios tanto a nivel municipal como territorial, y la reconexión de la ciudad con la huerta. La creación del parque aumenta también la cantidad de zona verde tan necesaria Es objeto de este Trabajo Final de Master el desarrollo de un centro para la educación y formación profesional insertado en la ordenación urbana del margen este de la ciudad de Torrent. En él se impartirá formación a distintos niveles cuyo objetivo es la inserción y reinserción profesional, así como el aumento de la empleabilidad de la población. El centro formará parte de un campus libre junto con las instalaciones deportivas de Parc Central y las de la nueva sede de la Universidad Católica de Valencia. Proporcionará una alternativa a los estudiantes de los muchos centros educativos de Torrent y acogerá a estudiantes procedente de otras poblaciones cercanas e incluso de Valencia aprovechando la buena conexión que ofrece el metro. Se impartirán grados en nuevas y demandadas profesiones pero poniendo en valor los antiguos oficios y prácticas del territorio.

[EN] Due to its proximity and good communication with Valencia, the city of Torrent has grown over the last 50 years seeking its conversion into a bedroom city. Poor planning has led to uncontrolled and structureless growth, limited only by the physical barriers of the ravine to the north, the encounter with the Vedat to the south, and the railroad tracks to the east. However, the exponential increase in population (81,245 inhabitants in 2018), the availability of resources and infrastructures and the permanence of its own character, show the ability to be self-sufficient. For this reason, during the last decade it has tried to reverse this situation by improving infrastructures and exploiting the latent potential, with new urban projects that claim the individuality of the city. This, together with better accessibility to housing compared to the city of Valencia, makes us foresee a new increase in the population.

The natural growth of the city would occur along the eastern bank once physical barriers are removed by burying the railroad tracks. On this footprint, the creation of a linear park is proposed that connects the abandoned urban center with the new and modern areas, much more dynamic. The new border provides support for the insertion of equipment, necessary both at the municipal and territorial level, and the reconnection of the city with the orchard. The creation of the park also increases the amount of much-needed green space.

The object of this Final Master¿s Project is the development of a center for education and professional training inserted in the urban planning of the eastern margin of the city of Torrent. It will provide training at different levels whose objective is professional insertion and reintegration, as well as increasing the employability of the population. The center will be part of a free campus together with the sports facilities of Parc Central and those of the new headquarters of the Catholic University of Valencia. It will provide an alternative to students from the many educational centers in Torrent and will welcome students from other nearby towns and even from Valencia, taking advantage of the good connection offered by the metro. Degrees will be taught in new and in-demand professions, but putting in value the old trades and practices of the territory.
