Corazón de barrio.

Abstract

[ES] Cor de barri ocupa un lugar significativo dentro del barrio de La Torre. Un espacio público limitado en planta por una iglesia, viario, viviendas y colindante con un colegio.

La ubicación fue escogida para simbolizar la relación entre el nuevo conjunto de edificios y la población del barrio, ya que nos encontramos ante el núcleo social.

Cor de barri se divide en tres edificios con unos usos diferenciados pero un planteamiento común. El mercado y las viviendas cumplen la función de remate de lo existente y la mediateca se coloca en el centro de la parcela mediante dos volúmenes maclados.

El mercado promueve el acceso a la parcela desde la calle aprovechando el bajo existente y liberando su esquina. Los juegos interior-exterior, las circulaciones y la distribución interior corresponden a las limitaciones de la estructura existente.

La vivienda tapa la medianera que da a la plaza de la Iglesia y se abre hacia el sur. La planta baja se destina al acceso a las viviendas y a futuras exposiciones, en los tres niveles superiores se encuentran cinco tipos distintos de vivienda.

Los dos volúmenes que forman la mediateca se maclan de tal forma que siguen unos nuevos ejes inexistentes en la planta original, generando tensiones que permiten accesos en todas las direcciones y la creación de nuevos espacios públicos, todo ello respetando y enfatizando la presencia de la Iglesia. En su interior los libros no ocupan la totalidad del espacio disponible ya que las nuevas formas de acceso a la cultura requieren de un nuevo planteamiento de diseño. Se combinan los espacios interiores y exteriores se crea un refugio para eventos públicos frente a la biblioteca.

Las fachadas están revestidas de madera de abeto colocada en vertical con aperturas en forma de llagas horizontales que hacen referencia a la posición de los ladrillos en la fachada de la Iglesia.

Los vuelos equivalentes a la mitad de la luz se sustentan gracias a un sistema de forjado bubble deck y a la estructura atirantada colgada del borde de forjado de la cubierta, con un canto dos veces superior a las demás para sostener los vuelos inferiores

[EN] Cor de barri occupies a significant place within the La Torre neighborhood. A public space limited in plan by a church, road, houses and adjacent to a school.

The location was chosen to symbolize the relationship between the new set of buildings and the population of the neighborhood, since we are facing the social nucleus.

Cor de barri is divided into three buildings with different uses but a common approach. The market and the houses fulfill the function of finishing off the existing and the media library is placed in the center of the plot by means of two twinned volumes.

The market promotes access to the plot from the street, taking advantage of the existing ground floor and freeing up its corner. The interior-exterior games, the circulations and the interior distribution correspond to the limitations of the existing structure.

The house covers the dividing wall that overlooks the Plaza de la Iglesia and opens to the south. The ground floor is intended for access to homes and future exhibitions, on the three upper levels there are five different types of housing.

The two volumes that make up the media library are linked in such a way that they follow new axes that do not exist in the original floor plan, generating tensions that allow access in all directions and the creation of new public spaces, all respecting and emphasizing the presence of the Church . Inside, the books do not occupy all the available space since the new forms of access to culture require a new design approach. Indoor and outdoor spaces are combined creating a haven for public events in front of the library.

The facades are clad in fir wood placed vertically with openings in the form of horizontal sores that refer to the position of the bricks on the facade of the Church.

The flights equivalent to half the span are supported by a bubble deck slab system and the cable-stayed structure hanging from the slab edge of the roof, with an edge twice as high as the others to support the lower flights.
