[EN] The main purpose of this project is to redesign the hydraulic supply of the Oceanogràfic, an
aquarium located in the city of Valencia, from its intake in the sea to their own hydraulic
system. The cause that motivates the project consists in certain problems detected in the
installation, for which the partial substitution of this one is going to be considered.
To date, the problems observed are related to the quality of the water that is supplied to the
animals, which has decreased its quality since the intake was enclosed in the Port of Valencia
after its latest expansion. In addition, some leaks have been found in the section of the Marina
Real canal, so the proposed project contemplates a new supply system to remedy both
problems and ensure that the new installation adequately serves all the aquarium habitats. In
addition to the definition of the new route, this system also involves the modification of the
current pumping units, if necessary.
The modus operandi will consist, firstly, in studying the aquarium installation scheme and the
demands to be met, with the collaboration of the technical team in charge. Next, to analyze
the distribution of the facilities and the intake and the differences in elevation between them,
for which the cartography of the National Geographic Institute and the Q-GIS platform will be
used. Finally, for the integration of all the previous information and decision making, the
EPANET numerical model for pressurized flow hydraulic installations will be elaborated.
