Abstract

[ES] Woman_Exchangeable image format (.wexif). Narrativa transmedia en torno a la modificación de la figura femenina en la era digital, es un proyecto interdisciplinar que busca relacionar la investigación teórica y la práctica artística para diseñar y construir una narrativa transmedia como estrategia para subvertir el uso del retoque fotográfico digital en los social media. Este proyecto investigativo, cuestiona, analiza y reflexiona desde una perspectiva de género, como la utilización de nuevas tecnologías como el retoque fotográfico, se usa en la publicidad sirviéndose de la capacidad plástica de las imágenes de mapa de bits, para crear nuevas realidades a partir de hechos idealizados, construidos casi de forma quirúrgica donde se pueden mostrar cuerpos femeninos que han sido fragmentados, recortados, corregidos y optimizados en un software. Así pues, se busca poner en evidencia de que forma la asociación de estas capas que constituyen la creación de la imagen publicitaria, contribuyen a intentar representar estos estereotipos asociados a la belleza en la sociedad digital. Frente a esto, para el desarrollo artístico de este proyecto, se presenta la narrativa transmedia como una estrategia tecnológica que permite la creación y exploración de nuevos espacios que en simultaneo motiven reflexiones sobre la manipulación digital de la figura femenina, su uso en redes sociales y los factores que la originan. El proyecto parte de un archivo multimedia vinculado a una plataforma web, La web se plantea como soporte y vínculo que conecte los diferentes fragmentos narrativos, el archivo se concibe como una herramienta critica para la construcción de las múltiples narrativas no lineales que participan de la obra. Así pues, sirviéndose de la transmisibilidad, instantaneidad e interactividad que ofrece la era digital, explorar, desenmascarar, revelar y divulgar técnicas del retoque fotográfico digital con la intención de subvertirlas y reivindicar la representación de la figura femenina en los social media. En este proyecto se aporta desde la observación y experiencia activa como usuarios y profesionales de la producción audiovisual, la publicidad, las redes sociales y el retoque fotográfico digital mediante el uso del software Adobe® Photoshop®.

Transmedia narrative around the modification of the female figure in the digital era, is an interdisciplinary project that seeks to concect, theoretical research and artistic practice to design and build a transmedia narrative as a strategy to subvert the use of digital photo retouching in social media.

This research Project, questions, analyzes and reflects from a gender perspective, how the use of new technologies such as photo retouching, is used in advertising, making use of the plastic capacity of bitmap images to create new realities from idealized facts, that have been constructed almost surgically where you can show female bodies that have been fragmented, trimmed, corrected and optimized in a software. Thus, therefore to highlight how the association of these layers that make up the creation of the advertising image, contribute to try to represent these stereotypes associated with beauty in the digital society.

In view of this, for the artistic development of this project, the transmedia narrative is presented as a technological strategy that allows the creation and exploration of new spaces that simultaneously motivate reflections about the digital manipulation of the female figure, how it is used in social networks and the factors that originate it. The project is based on a multimedia archive linked to a web platform. The web is conceived as a support and link that connects the different narrative fragments, the archive is conceived as a critical tool for the construction of the multiple non-linear narratives that participate in the work. Thus, using the transmissibility, instantaneity and interactivity offered by the digital era, to explore, unmask, reveal and disseminate digital photographic retouching techniques with the intention of subverting them and vindicate the representation of the female figure in social media.

This project is based on observation and active experience as users and professionals of audiovisual production, advertising and digital photo retouching using Adobe® Photoshop® software.
