Habitar cooperativo en el barrio del Carmen.

Abstract

[ES] El siguiente trabajo plantea el diseño de una cooperativa de viviendas en el Barrio del Carmen de Valencia. El emplazamiento escogido es una manzana situada en el margen del río Turia, junto al Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno (IVAM), que se compone por edificios residenciales en su perímetro y naves industriales que colmatan los patios interiores. No obstante, esta situación privilegiada no ha podido evitar el abandono progresivo de las edificaciones que, a día de hoy, continúan sucumbiendo al inexorable paso del tiempo.

Por este motivo, a lo largo del trabajo se plantea la posibilidad de regenerar esta manzana del Barrio del Carmen mediante la construcción de una cooperativa de viviendas, al mismo tiempo que se abordan aspectos como la reflexión en torno al habitar, la lectura del lugar, la vida en comunidad y aspectos más técnicos correspondientes a un proyecto de arquitectura como son el estudio estructural y constructivo de la propuesta.

[EN] The following project proposes the design of a cooperative housing in the Carmen¿s neighbourhood in Valencia. The chosen location is a block situated on the banks of the river Turia, which is made up of residential buildings on its perimeter and industrial warehouses that fill the interior courtyards. In adittion, it's located next to the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM). However, this privileged location has not been able to prevent the progressive abandonment of the buildings which, to this day, continue to succumb to the inexorable passage of time.

For this reason, throughout this project we offer the possibility of regenerating this block in the Carmen¿s neighbourhood through the construction of a housing cooperative, while addressing aspects such as the reflection on inhabiting, the reading of the place, community life and more technical aspects corresponding to an architectural project such as the structural and constructional study of the proposal.
