Hábitat cooperativo en El Carmen.

Abstract

[ES] El proyecto plantea abordar la problemática residencial, social y urbana existente en el barrio de El Carmen de Valencia. La cooperativa de viviendas en régimen de cesión de uso se vislumbra como una oportunidad para dar solución a esta serie de cuestiones de partida que presenta el lugar de intervención, entre la ciudad antigua, el río y la ciudad contemporánea. Se presenta un proyecto con un programa variado en el cual conviven la arquitectura nueva y las preexistencias de la arquitectura industrial y residencial del lugar, manteniendo la reflexión sobre la vivienda como foco principal del proyecto. Así pues, respetar y entender este lugar icónico de la ciudad y proponer nuevas formas de vivirlo.

[EN] The project addresses the residential, social and urban issues existing in El Carmen neighborhood of Valencia. The cooperative housing model is seen as an opportunity to solve a series of starting issues that the place of intervention presents, between the old city, the river and the contemporary city. The project introduces a varied program in which the new architecture and the preexistence of the industrial and residential architecture of the place coexist, keeping the reflection on dwelling as the main focus of the project. Thus, respect and understand this iconic place and propose new ways of experiencing it.
