dc.description.abstract | What? The project can allow us find mobile phones which were lost or stolen. It will be an interesting project because this situation is common in the everyday life. When a device will be lost, we could send a message to it and automatically receive one back with the GPS coordinates where it is situated. To extend this, we want to try to put a security lock on the phone as soon as the SMS is received so that it can only be unlocked by the PIN-number or security number. So this application allows us to know exactly where the mobile phone is located at that time. Steps? First of all we want to become familiar with mobile applications, so the first weeks we will be studying the J2ME CLDC technology and trying to make a simple program for a mobile phone (like a mobile phone counter onscreen). => technology = PUSH API After we will look how mobile phones receive messages (SMS) and how we can read these in from a program. At the same time we will look how a program on a mobile phone can send an SMS with/without user confirmation. => technology = WIRELESS MESSAGING API After this we want to extend this using the GPS module inside the mobile phone. We will try to initialise this device, how and in what way it sends out data and how we can use this data for the final project. If we have enough time, we will try to look at security and how to make a security lock on the mobile phone after a personal message is received. At the end we will try to implement all this parts to become a one big program that can run on different cell-phones using J2ME. Why? We were both inspired by the technology of mobile phones. This technology is pretty new and we can't learn this in either of our colleges. The mobile phone tracker that is described in the project suggestions was a good way to become familiar with this kind of technology. We are looking forward to know more about it and are sure that we can complete this. | es_ES |
