[EN] This Project is carried out in the context of a company in the automotive sector.
Until now, the plastic injection plant for car interior parts, located in Almussafes, has operated
with the same planning system since the early 2000s. It consists of an Excel file with all the
references of the parts that have been manufactured and those that are currently being
manufactured. Depending on the customer requirements for each part week by week, the Excel
is updated with the new quantities. To draw up the daily planning, another Excel sheet is used
with a Gantt that allows the plant managers to see which machines must be switch on and off
at any given moment and what quantities to manufacture.
It is proposed to implement production scheduling software that automates the daily planning
process. This includes the task of planning the production orders that will take place in each
production shift, defining the sequence in an automated way by means of an analytical
sequencer. One chapter of the Project will be devoted to the definition of production batch sizes,
safety stock days and other important parameters for its implementation. On the other hand,
the main function of the software is to obtain a quick response to the setbacks that arise daily
in the manufacturing plant, so certain scenarios will also be defined as a response to the most
typical unforeseen events, thus relocating the personnel in an automated way. The
implementation of the software on the shop floor, the transition period from the old Excel sheet
to the new software and the improvements made to the initial beta version of the software until
it has been correctly parameterised will be described. Finally, it will include the training plan for
the staff in the use of the new software.
