dc.description.abstract | [EN] A pump is the machine that converts energy, applied to move the water. This movement is usually upward. This device moves fluids by mechanical action. The pump does not generate pressure, this is due to the purpose of creating flow, thereby compressing the fluid and generating the force needed for a given pressure. Water pumps have existed since 3000 B.C. The first pump wheels were made with water and ramps and animals used for giving the energy to drive the wheels. Currently the advancement in technology has left behind all this and we can find many types of pumps depending on the requirements. We will focus during this text in the piston pump, which is driven by belt and motor system. | es_ES |
