Abstract

[ES] Comentario a las obras de los artistas participantes en la muestra "Antes de ayer", celebrada en el Ayuntamiento Viejo, en el caso antiguo de Bétera, exposición que gira en torno al concepto del recuerdo y la importancia de mirar hacia el pasado como referente para la creación. La exposición, que recoge a nueve investigadores del campo de las artes, es una propuesta que nos invita a mirar, ver y percibir, y en la que se propone recuperar el pasado -el recuerdo como recurso creativo-, para convertirlo en una estética de hoy. Con ello, se quiere reivindicar la preocupación social de las generaciones de hoy y las venideras, las que viven en el presente sin darse cuenta, por el excesivo uso de las nuevas tecnologías que proporcionan una inmediatez del ahora, que son incapaces de mirar hacia atrás, de mirar su pasado, de recuperar la memoria histórica y menos de estudiarla.

[EN] This chapter includes a brief introduction to each of the works by the artists participating in the exhibition "Before yesterday", held at the Old Town Hall, in the old town of Bétera, an exhibition that revolves around the concept of memory and the importance of looking to the past as a reference for creation. The exhibition, which brings together nine researchers from the field of the arts, is a proposal that invites to look, see and perceive, and proposes to recover the past -the memories as a creative resource-, to turn them into an aesthetic of the present. The objective is to revindicate the social concern of current and future generations, those who live only in the present due to the excessive use of new technologies, so that they are not able to look back to recover their historical memory, much less study it.
