El incendio de Notre-Dame

Abstract

[EN] In the light of the tire at Notre-Dame, the article reflects on the symbiotic action assumed by the elements of the double roof system of the typical great Gothic church, in which the stone vaults are crowned by a wooden ceiling, and the valuable function that each of these elements acquires within the whole. It also cites other examples of restoration work carried out after similar disasters in order to encourage reflection on the alternatives open to the design of the new roofs of Notre-Dame.

[ES] El artículo reflexiona, al hilo del incendio de Notre-Dame, sobre la acción simbiótica que asumen los elementos del sistema de doble cubierta de la gran iglesia gótica típica, en el que las bóvedas de piedra se coronan por una techumbre de madera, y la valiosa función que adquiere cada uno de estos elementos dentro del conjunto. Así mismo, cita otros ejemplos de actuaciones restauradoras promovidas tras siniestros análogos para incitar a la reflexión sobre las alternativas que se abren para el diseño de las nuevas cubiertas de Notre-Dame.
