Repensando el espacio interior: Estrategias para la resiliencia de viviendas en la ciudad de Cuenca, Ecuador.

Abstract

[ES] Tras el contexto de la pandemia de COVID19, la arquitectura residencial se ha visto comprometida, repercutiendo a distintos niveles en sus habitantes. Esto ha puesto en evidencia la importancia de repensar la composición de la vivienda. Es necesario que el espacio interior doméstico se reconfigure, adapte a las nuevas necesidades y provea incluso nuevos usos, es decir que la vivienda sea resiliente. El presente trabajo busca establecer distintas estrategias para reconfigurar los distintos tipos de vivienda a esta nueva realidad; teniendo como criterio principal la sostenibilidad dentro de la arquitectura, tanto a nivel espacial como material.

[EN] After the context of the COVID19 pandemic, it has been witnessed that residential architecture is not prepared to respond to atypical situations. So it can have a physical and psychological impact on its inhabitants. This has highlighted the importance of rethinking the composition of the home. Therefore, it is proposed that the domestic interior space be reconfigured, adapted to new needs and even provide new uses, that is, that the home is resilient. The present work seeks to establish different strategies to redefine housing, adapting it to this new reality. Different criteria are established that range from spatial configuration to construction, in order to achieve a home that adapts to the needs of its inhabitants. Sustainability is proposed as the main axis of these strategies, both at a constructive and spatial level.
