dc.description.abstract | [EN] This paper contributes to find alternative solutions to an important problem: the determination of residential flexibility. In this case, the necessary flexibility is achieved through loads with storage capabilities and, consequently, a high potential for Demand Response (DR): Thermal Energy Storage Loads (TES). A representative TES load for residential segments has been fully monitored in the laboratory to develop and validate a Physically-Based Model which allows conducting the evaluation of main DR options. Moreover, the model provides aggregators an insight on how they can modify or limit the flexibility of demand, and how to deal with these specific characteristics and limitations. This tool should facilitate the engagement of active consumers in future Electricity Markets and promote the use of TES loads which have important capital costs (considering the enabling technology needed for measurement and control). As an application, balancing renewable with these loads through DR options are discussed and evaluated in this work. | es_ES |
