Centro residencial especializado en la atención a Mujeres Víctimas de Violencia de Género en la Manzana Perdida de Ruzafa.

Abstract

[ES] En un barrio que reclama con urgencia la recuperación de su identidad encontramos la “Manzana Perdida” sumergida en un ambiente saturado por la actividad hostelera y la gentrificación. Rodeada por el Mercado de Ruzafa, la biblioteca Al-Russafi y el colegio Balmes entre otros equipamientos, destaca por su deterioro y sus preexistencias fuera de alineación, pero también por presentar una ocasión única para abordar la problemática del barrio. Además, cubrir la necesidad de cobijo y protección ha sido desde el inicio de los tiempos el principal objetivo de la arquitectura. En esta manzana, surge la oportunidad de cuidar a uno de los sectores más vulnerables de la población: las mujeres víctimas de Violencia de Género y sus hijos. El proyecto nace de la creación de espacios a través de la recuperación de las trazas históricas y la potenciación de las relaciones intervecinales.

[EN] In a neighborhood that urgently demands the recovery of its identity, we find the “Lost Block” submerged in an environment saturated by hostelry activity and gentrification. Surrounded by the Ruzafa Market, the Al- Russafi library and the Balmes school among other facilities, it stands out for its deterioration and its pre-existence out of alignment, but also for presenting a unique opportunity to address the problems of the area. In addition, the need for shelter and protection has been the main objective of architecture since the beginning of time. In this block, the opportunity arises to take care of one of the most vulnerable sectors of the population: women victims of Gender Violence and their children. The project has born from the creation of spaces through the recovery of historical traces and the enhancement of relations between neighbours.
