On Site. Agrocenter Valencia-Alboraya: Enseñanza Sostenible.

Abstract

[EN] We are in a location with a complex context, such as the orchard that surrounds Valencia, which has been so important to its tradition and culture, and yet is increasingly threatened by the unstoppable growth and expansion of the city. Specifically, we are located in a triangle of the orchard located between Valencia and Alboraya, especially threatened and boxed in by different urban elements that surround it, such as the V-21 highway, the railroad tracks towards Barcelona, and the growth of the city and UPV. The objective is not only to alleviate this orchard area, improving its connections with the outside of the area and reconnecting it with the spaces that surround it, but to consolidate and strengthen it, to also reconnect it with people, and that they can feel it as their own. For this, an Agrocenter is proposed, a teaching center on everything related to the garden and its cultivation. The building is conceived in its concept as a series of fingers that intertwine with the orchard, in a building totally permeable and open to the landscape and the surrounding fields, and that wants to mix with them.

[ES] Nos encontramos en una ubicación con un contexto complejo, como es la huerta que rodea Valencia, que tan importante ha sido para su tradición y cultura, y que sin embargo se ve cada vez mas amenazada ante el imparable crecimiento y expansión de la ciudad. Concretamente nos situamos en un triángulo de la huerta situada entre Valencia y Alboraya, especialmente amenzada y encajonada por distintos elementos urbanos que la cercan, como la autovía V-21, las vías del ferrocarril dirección Barcelona, y el crecimiento de la ciudad y UPV. El objetivo no es solo aliviar esta área de huerta, mejoran- do sus conexiónes con el exterior del ámbito y reconectan- dola con los espacios que la rodean, si no consolidarla y fortalecerla, para reconectarla también con la gente, y que la puedan sentir como propia. Para ello se propone un Agrocenter, un centro de enseñanza sobre todo lo relacionado con la huerta y su cultivo. El edificio se plantea en su concepto como una serie de dedos que se entrelazan con la huerta, en un edificio totalmente permeable y abierto al paisaje y los campos de alrededor, y que quiere mezclarse con ellos.
