La Espiral. Producción de un corto animado en 2D. Storyboard, hojas modelo, layout y animación.

Abstract

[ES] La Espiral es un proyecto en equipo de animación 2D, que pretende explorar todas las fases que corresponden a la realización de un cortometraje animado, desde la preproducción, producción y postproducción.

Este corto forma parte de un largometraje profesional de imagen real con escenas animadas, que a su vez funciona como corto independiente. Cuenta la historia de Gea, una mujer maltratada que debe entregar sus hijas a su exmarido y agresor por decisión judicial. Nuestra historia toma lugar la noche anterior al día en el que Gea las debe entregar, donde por medio de la animación, el espectador se adentrará de manera onírica y surrealista en sus recuerdos y sentimientos. Tratando la indefensión de la mujer maltratada como tema principal, pretende reivindicar los derechos de la mujer y criticar la pasividad de la justicia ante la situación, identificando el paso del tiempo y su agotamiento como un elemento principal, y a la espiral como ese factor simbólico de lo cíclico, lo que nunca acaba y de donde parece que no se puede salir.

Dividido en roles, como trabajo de producción de animación, nuestra aportación especial ha estado en la realización del storyboard en sus diferentes fases junto a Sandra Pérez, las hojas modelo, el layout y la animación.

[EN] La Espiral is a 2D group animation project which aim is to explore all the phases involved in creating an animated short film, going through the pre-production, the production, and the post-production.

This short is a part of a professional live action feature film with some animated scenes, but it also works as an independent short film. It tells the story of Gea, a woman victim of domestic abuse that must hand over their daughters to her ex-husband and aggressor by a court decision. Our short takes place the night before the day Gea must hand them over, where, through the animation, the spectator will get into her memories and feelings in an oneiric and surrealistic way. Treating the helplessness of the battered woman as the main theme, it is intended to vindicate women¿s rights and criticize the passivity of justice in the face of the situation, identifying the passage of time and its depletion like a principal item, and the spiral like that symbolic element of the cyclical, what never ends and that is not possible to get out.

Divided into roles, like an animation production project, our special contribution has been in the realization of the storyboard with Sandra Pérez and in its different phases, the model cards, the layout, and the animation.
