Un San Vicente Ferrer sobre lienzo del s XVII, procedente del antiguo hospital de Valencia.Estudio Histórico-Técnico y propuesta de intervención.

Abstract

[ES] En este trabajo se ha llevado a término el estudio alrededor de una pintura que cabría clasificar en la tradición de la pintura valenciana del s. XVII. En la misma, se representa la figura del predicador san Vicente Ferrer, de pie y vestido con el hábito de la orden dominicana, con sus característicos atributos iconográficos y un fondo paisajístico referente al milagro de las naves llegando al puerto de Barcelona. La obra, actualmente conservada en la sacristía de la iglesia del Hospital General de Valencia, procede del legado de obras originarias del antiguo edificio derruido a principios de los años 60 del pasado siglo, que se encontraba ubicado en la trama urbana intramuros de la ciudad. Tras la documentación fotográfica a través de diferentes fuentes de iluminación se pudo llevar a término el estudio técnico de cada una de las partes que conforman la obra, a fin de examinar y conocer específicamente sus materiales constitutivos, así como su comportamiento con el paso del tiempo. En relación a los ensayos para la extracción de información en referencia al soporte textil y tras la toma de muestras, se ha podido determinar el tipo de fibra y el tejido que lo definen. Todos estos datos nos han servido para determinar el estado de conservación de la obra con el objetivo de reconocer las alteraciones y deterioros que presenta y llevar a término una serie de registros que nos permitan diseñar y elaborar, a través de diferentes diagramas y mapas de daños, una propuesta detallada de restauración sobre la pintura.

[EN] In this work we have carried out the study of a painting that could be classified in the tradition of the Valencian painting of the XVII century. It depicts the figure of the preacher Saint Vincent Ferrer, standing and dressed in the habit of the Dominican order, with his characteristic iconographic attributes and a landscape background referring to the miracle of the ships arriving at the port of Barcelona. The work, currently preserved in the sacristy of the church of the General Hospital of Valencia, comes from the legacy of original works of the old building demolished in the early 60's of the last century, which was located in the urban intramural fabric of the city. After the photographic documentation through different sources of illumination, it was possible to carry out the technical study of each of the parts that make up the work, in order to examine and know specifically its constituent materials, as well as its behavior over time. In relation to the tests for the extraction of information in reference to the textile support and after taking samples, it has been possible to determine the type of fiber and the fabric that define it. All these data have helped us to determine the state of conservation of the work with the aim of recognizing the alterations and deterioration it presents and to carry out a series of records that allow us to design and develop, through different diagrams and damage maps, a detailed restoration proposal for the painting.
