On site. La huerta se reagrupa

Abstract

[ES] La integración de "L'Horta de Vera" con la zona norte de la ciudad de Valencia ha estado, históricamente, a merced de una lucha constante causada por un conflicto de intereses entre la huerta y lo urbano. La situación desfavorable que, lamentablemente, sufre la huerta frente a la ciudad, ha provocado que ésta caiga en una posición marginal. La iniciativa "On Site" pretende devolver a los campos valencianos y a las personas que pertenecen a su idiosincrasia su valor real, a la vez que se trata de mejorar el diálogo con el entorno. Además, las condiciones que sostienen la conversación con los lindes urbanos son muy pobres, resultando agravadas a través del tiempo por la implantación de la autovía V-21 y las vías de tren. Esto aísla completamente la zona de actuación. La dimensión de todos estos problemas requiere una solución con una escala de intervención acorde al desafío al que nos enfrentamos. Además, el dilema en cuestión se debe resolver teniendo en cuenta la naturaleza del entorno rural, el carácter de la huerta y su densidad sin masificar. Por ello se propone un programa de "Agrocenter" en un conjunto de edificios que se apoyan en la acequia de Vera. El proyecto tiene como punta de lanza un edificio cultural que actúa con la premisa de defender y poner en valor la huerta, mediante la organización común de sus huéspedes (colectivos, agricultores) Este conjunto pretende alcanzar una gran escala, no por su dimensión constructiva, sino por su dimensión social. Por esto se plantea un espacio cultural y social enfundado en un "ágora" pública de reunión. Dicho espacio también abarcará la tarea de conectar la huerta y la ciudad. El complejo contará también con una escuela de agricultores. Esta parte formativa del programa tendrá mucho peso, y actuará como centro de gravedad sobre el cual orbitará el resto de la actuación. Así se pretende impregnar en la atmósfera del proyecto la defensa de la educación, como medio de difusión y reinterpretación de la agricultura. El conjunto también contiene un mercado de proximidad, que aprovechará los productos de la escuela, como seña del amparo necesario de un comercio tan quebrantado como el agrícola.

In addition, the dilemma must be resolved considering the nature of the rural environment, the character of the garden and its density without overcrowding. For this reason, an "Agrocenter" program is proposed for a group of buildings that are supported by the Vera canal. The project has as its spearhead a cultural building that acts with the premise of defending and valuing the garden, through the common organization of its guests (groups, farmers ...) This building aims to achieve a large scale not for its constructive dimension, but its social dimension. For this reason, a cultural and social space is proposed, encased in a public "agora" for meeting. This space will also cover the task of connecting the garden and the city. The complex will also have a farmers' school. This formative part of the program will have a lot of weight, and will act as a center of gravity on which the rest of the action will orbit. This is how the defense of education is intended to permeate the atmosphere of the project, as a means of dissemination and reinterpretation of agriculture. The complex also contains a local market, which will take advantage of the school's products, as a sign of the necessary protection of a business as broken as the agricultural one.
