Testimonios de un barrio. Centro social multicultural en el barrio Morvedre

Abstract

[ES] El proyecto se plantea como una pieza dentro de una acción general de recuperación del barrio Morvedre, donde la antigua vía de conexión territorial con Sagunto adquiere el papel de eje principal. Se actúa sobre un barrio degradado, recuperando elementos puntuales y tramas histórica de este, para crear un tejido de actividad. El proyecto tiene como objetivo servir de primer eslabón para la inclusión social de los colectivos multiculturales que residen en el barrio. Para ello se prevé recuperar un conjunto de solares con problemas de conexiones, cambios de escalas y superposiciones de crecimientos urbanos muy dispares. Se actúa mediante la creación de un centro social multicultural que intentará crear una unidad en torno a un espacio principal de convivencia, el foro. Para ello, el espacio público adquiere al papel de elemento central dentro del proyecto. Se plantea un programa compuesto de una zona de residencia de primera acogida, zona de actividades culturales, que sirvan de intercambio social, y un núcleo de gestión de todo el conjunto. Así, actuando sobre este punto se puede empezar a articular una actuación que vaya expandiéndose al resto del barrio.

[EN] The project is proposed as a piece within a general action of recovery of the neighborhood Morvedre, where the old road of territorial connection with Sagunto acquires the role of main axis. It acts on a degraded neighborhood, recovering specific elements and historical plots of this, to create a set of activity. The project aims to serve as the first link for the social inclusion of multicultural collectives residing in the neighborhood. To do this, it is expected to recover a set of plots with problems of connections, changes of scales and overlaps of very disparate urban growths. It acts by creating a multicultural social center that will try to create a unity around a main space of coexistence, the forum. For this, the public space acquires the role of central element within the project. The programme consists of a first-time residence area, an area for cultural activities, serving as a social exchange, and a management center for the whole. Thus, acting on this point can begin to articulate a performance that is expanding to the rest of the neighborhood
