Abstract

[ES] La huerta forma parte de la historia valenciana. A lo largo de los años se ha visto atacada hasta el punto de reducir notablemente su superficie. Donde antiguamente existía cierta sinergia y armonía, actualmente existen límites bruscos que borran esta sensación de pertenencia dejando a la huerta ajena a la ciudad. El desarrollo de la ciudad en detrimento de la huerta genera en ella espacios residuales propensos a ser transformados desechando así su carácter agrícola. Diversos factores han provocado como resultado la huerta que conocemos hoy en día. Ya sea por cambios sociales, económicos o culturales. Se disminuye por lo tanto el uso de la misma, limitándose exclusivamente a los agricultores de la zona que cada vez son menos. Surge entonces, con intención de recuperar la sincronía entre huerta y ciudad, la necesidad de difuminar estos límites, generar actividad que los permeabilicen, donde huerta y ciudad conserven su identidad y coexistan. Nos situamos en la "Huerta de Vera", concretamente al norte de la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, entre la autovía V-21 y las vías del ferrocarril. Un emplazamiento acotado por unos límites agresivos y en peligro de perder su identidad. Se plantea un ejercicio de recuperación de la huerta en cuanto territorio y sobre todo en cuanto uso. Favoreciendo de esta manera el flujo de personas entre huerta y ciudad, auspiciando un dialogo más concurrido. Este proyecto generador de actividad que conoceremos como "Agrocenter" tiene como objetivo abarcar el carácter social, cultural y económico anteriormente mencionado y, mediante las actividades que se produzcan en el mismo, generar nuevas actividades y relaciones entre huerta y ciudad.

[EN] The orchard is part of Valencian history. Over the years it has been attacked to the point of significantly reducing its surface. Where in the past there was a certain synergy and harmony, nowadays there are abrupt limits that erase this sense of belonging, leaving the orchard outside the city. The development of the city to the detriment of the orchard generates in it residual spaces prone to being transformed, thus discarding its agricultural character. As a result, various factors have caused the orchard that we know today. Whether due to social, economic or cultural changes. Therefore, the use of it was limited, being limited exclusively to the local farmers, who are less and less. Then, with the intention of recovering the synchronization between the orchard and the city, the need arises to blur these limits, to generate activity that permeates, where the orchard and the city retain their identity and coexist. We are located in the "Huerta de Vera", specifically north of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, between the V-21 motorway and the railroad tracks. A location bounded by aggressive limits and in danger of losing its identity. An exercise in orchard recovery is proposed as a territory and especially as regards use. In this way, it favors the flow of people between the orchard and the city, fostering a more crowded dialogue. This activity-generating project that we will know as "Agrocenter" aims to encompass the aforementioned social, cultural and economic character and, through the activities that take place in it, generate new activities and relationships between the orchard and the city.
