Mujeres y patrimonio arquitectónico 3: aportación de las mujeres a la teoría y la práctica de la conservación del patrimonio arquitectónico

Abstract

[ES] En la historia de la restauración arquitectónica las mujeres no han sido reconocidas como se merecen, aunque si eran y son de gran importancia. Desde luego, no fueron resaltadas por el hecho de vivir en una sociedad rígida, en la que se las discriminaba y relegaba a un segundo plano, o lo que es igual, era el hombre el que siempre destacaba. Afortunadamente, a partir del siglo XX, cuando se les permite acceder a estudios universitarios, las mujeres también se sitúan en el mundo laboral en investigación, docencia y ejercicio práctico, dándoles un lugar más relevante en la sociedad. Figuras como las pioneras Liliana Grassi y Jane Jacobs y otras más actuales nacionales e internacionales, se han hecho un hueco en la historia de la conservación y restauración del patrimonio arquitectónico. Cabe destacar organismos como ICCROM y premios como ¿Europa Nostra¿ , que han incluido en sus listas de premiados los nombres de prestigiosas mujeres.

[EN] In the history of architectural restoration, women have not been recognized as they deserve, although they were and still are very important. They were not distinguished by the fact that they lived in a rigid society in which they were discriminated and relegated to second place, in other words, it was always the man who stood out. Fortunately, from the 20th century onwards, when women were allowed to access university studies, they also found their place in the professional world in research, education, and practical activities, giving them a more relevant place in society. Figures such as the pioneers Liliana Grassi and Jane Jacobs and other more contemporary national and international figures have made a place for themselves in the history of the conservation and restoration of architectural heritage. It is necessary to mention organizations such as ICCROM and awards like "Europa Nostra", which have included the names of prestigious women in their lists of award winners.
