Espacios para la tarea del arte.

Abstract

[ES] En la actualidad, los vecinos del distrito la Zaidía muestran su oposición a la turistificación y reclaman aumento de inversión en el barrio para que sus habitantes puedan seguir viviendo allí. Esta problemática junto a las desconexiones y vacíos urbanos que perduran en el tiempo genera una situación especialmente relevante en el entorno de la Calle Sagunto. La principal estrategia se basa en la reorganización de las dos manzanas principales a intervenir, coordinando así la lógica geométrica del conjunto. Se propone una serie de nuevos espacios culturales y sociales, tales como talleres para personas mayores, viviendas sociales para jóvenes artistas, aulas de ensayo, espacios para las reuniones vecinales del barrio y una biblioteca pública. Se trata de un programa flexible mediante el cual se pretende recuperar la identidad del lugar y la relación del barrio con las artes, permitiendo crear un punto de encuentro de diferentes perfiles de usuario. La idea de creación de los nuevos espacios públicos se organiza y gradúa con la intención de distinguirlos en tres: la plaza interior compartida, la plaza abierta a Calle Sagunto y el jardín conectado a las zonas verdes preexistentes, potenciando así el flujo de actividad según el carácter de cada espacio.

[EN] Currently, the residents of the Zaidía district are showing their opposition to touristification and are calling for increased investment in the neighbourhood so that its inhabitants can continue to live there. This problem, together with the disconnections and urban voids that persist over time, generates a particularly relevant situation in the area around Street Sagunto. The main strategy is based on the reorganisation of the two main blocks to be intervened, thus coordinating the geometric logic of the whole. A series of new cultural and social spaces are proposed, such as workshops for the elderly, social housing for young artists, rehearsal rooms, spaces for neighbourhood meetings and a public library. It is a flexible programme that aims to recover the identity of the place and the neighbourhood's relationship with the arts, allowing for the creation of a meeting point for different user profiles. The idea of creating the new public spaces is organised and graded with the intention of distinguishing them into three: the shared interior square, the square open to Street Sagunto and the garden connected to the pre-existing green areas, thus enhancing the flow of activity according to the character of each space.
