La carpintería mal llamada Mudéjar

Abstract

[EN] In the last third of the twentieth century the carpentry made in the whole of the Spanish territory was scarcely studied which made it assume its origin as Mudéjar. A thorough investigation of this peculiar art proves that its origin was based on visigothic techniques and that living with a new Islamic client could influence its creation. However, it was always more rooted in the christian world than with the Islamic one, to the point that it prospered along with the development of gothic art and was finally consolidated with the Trastámara dynasty.

[ES] En el último tercio del siglo XX la carpintería de lazo realizada en la totalidad del territorio español estaba escasamente estudiada lo que hizo que se asumiera su origen como mudéjar. Una investigación a fondo sobre este arte peculiar prueba que su origen se basó en técnicas visigodas y que la convivencia con un nuevo cliente islámico pudo influir en su creación. Sin embargo siempre estuvo más enraizada con el mundo cristiano que con el islámico, hasta el punto que prosperó juntamente con el desarrollo del arte gótico y finalmente quedó consolidada con la dinastía Trastámara.
