Residencia híbrida de estudiantes como nodo urbano del barrio El Carmen

Abstract

[ES] Esta residencia de estudiantes nace como nodo de proximidad en el Barrio del Carmen, en Valencia. Se define como un edificio híbrido con diversos servicios privados y públicos, implantándose en una gran parcela colindante con el Antiguo Cauce del Turia, en el norte del centro histórico de la ciudad. El complejo responde al lugar definiendo espacios de paso y zonas verdes de uso y descanso, liberando la planta baja del programa residencial con el objetivo de dotarla de funciones que puedan interrelacionarse con el entorno y el barrio. El proyecto configura el programa residencial buscando el confort y privacidad de sus usuarios, definiendo diferentes unidades habitacionales que permitan flexibilidad en el hospedaje de diversos perfiles estudiantiles y docentes, y dotando de varios espacios de encuentro y reunión en cada planta para favorecer la interacción entre éstos. Por otro lado, el programa público diferencia, a la vez que interrelaciona, la zona interior y la zona exterior del edificio, albergando servicios que puedan ser exclusivos para los residentes, así como de uso público, según la necesidad. Cuenta con un conjunto de áreas ajardinadas que pretenden mejorar la calidad del contexto urbano y permiten la relación entre los residentes del barrio, los usuarios de la residencia y los jóvenes del instituto IES Barri del Carme, creando un nodo de conexión entre diferentes generaciones.

[EN] This student residence was created as a proximity node in the El Carmen Neighbourhood, in Valencia. It is defined as a hybrid building with several private and public services, implanted on a large plot adjacent to the Turia¿s Old Riverbed, in the north of the city's historic centre. The complex responds to the site by defining passageways and green areas for use and rest, freeing the ground floor of the residential programme with the aim of providing it with functions that can be interrelated with the surroundings and the neighbourhood. The project configures the residential programme seeking the comfort and privacy of its users, defining different housing units that allow for flexibility in the accommodation of different student and teaching profiles, and providing several meeting and gathering spaces on each floor to favour interaction between them. On the other hand, the public programme differentiates, while at the same time interrelating, the interior and exterior areas of the building, housing services that can be exclusive to residents as well as for public use, according to need. It has a set of landscaped areas that aim to improve the quality of the urban context and allow the relationship between the residents of the neighbourhood, the users of the residence and the young people of IES Barri del Carme secondary school, creating a node of connection between different generations.
