[ES] Este estudio se centra en analizar el uso de emojis en Twitter, especialmente en el contexto de temas relativos a la igualdad de género y la libertad sexual. Para ello, construimos un corpus de emojis utilizando muestras de comentarios en Twitter relacionados con la reforma de la "Ley de Reconocimiento de Género" en Escocia y el tema de la llamada ley de ¿Solo sí es sí¿ en España, ambos temas coincidentes cronológicamente en dos países y lenguas diferentes. A través del análisis cuantitativo y cualitativo de este corpus, se realizará un estudio comparativo del uso de emojis en ambos contextos, por tanto en los comentarios de usuarios en inglés y español. Los objetivos del estudio incluyen explorar y analizar la frecuencia, preferencias y diferencias en el uso de emojis en diferentes temas y entornos culturales, así como el impacto del género, tono de piel, idioma y contexto social en el uso e interpretación de emojis. También se analizará el papel del fenómeno de repetición en el uso de emojis. Los resultados nos permitirán obtener información sobre cómo se usan los emoji en las redes sociales y explorar su papel potencial en la promoción de la igualdad de género y el cambio social.

[EN] This study focuses on analyzing the use of emojis on Twitter, especially in the context of gender equality and sexual freedom. To do this, we built a corpus of emojis using samples of comments on Twitter related to the reform of the "Gender Recognition Act" in Scotland and the issue of the so-called "Only yes is yes" law in Spain, both topics coincidentally chronologically. in two different countries and languages. Through the quantitative and qualitative analysis of this corpus, a comparative study of the use of emoji in both contexts will be carried out, therefore in the comments of users in English and Spanish. The objectives of the study include exploring and analyzing the frequency, preferences and differences in the use of emojis in different topics and cultural settings, as well as the impact of gender, skin tone, language and social context on the use and interpretation of emojis. The role and phenomenon of repeating the use of emojis will also be analyzed. The results will allow us to gain insight into how emoji are used on social media and explore their potential role in promoting gender equality and social change.
