Límites y colímites categoriales

Abstract

[ES] En el estudio de las matemáticas, la búsqueda de la generalización y la abstracción de distintos conceptos encapsulados en diferentes teorías siempre ha sido primordial para estudiarlas en la medida en que lo permite el teorema de incompletitud de Gödel. La teoría de las categorías es una teoría matemática que ofrece un nivel de abstracción bastante alto que permite estudiar y relacionar diferentes ramas englobándolas en el término "categorías". En el presente trabajo de carácter expositivo se pretende mostrar, partiendo de los fundamentos de los estudios de las categorías, un concepto que, aunque presente en diversas teorías matemáticas, no se presenta de forma explícita, el límite y su dual, el colímite.

[EN] In the study of mathematics, the search for the generalisation and abstraction of different concepts encapsulated in different theories has always been paramount to study them to the extent that Gödel's incompleteness theorem allows. The theory of categories is a mathematical theory that offers a fairly high level of abstraction which allows to study and relate different branches encapsulating them in the term "categories". In the present work of expository nature it is sought to show, starting from the foundations of the studies of the categories, a concept that, although present in diverse mathematical theories, is not presented in an explicit way, the limit and its dual, the colimit.
