Mirando al Cabriel

Abstract

[ES] El proyecto `Mirando al Cabriel¿ surge ante dos ideas principales. La primera de ellas, la problemática de la despoblación en las zonas rurales, lo que actualmente se conoce como la España vaciada. La segunda, la protección de estas zonas y del entorno en el que se encuentran.

En 2019 el río Cabriel, afluente del río Júcar, pasó a formar parte de la reserva de la biosfera del Valle del Cabriel. Por otro lado, en el año 2020 apareció el COVID-19, dando una llamada de atención y recordando la importancia de la naturaleza y los espacios abiertos. Ante esta situación, me sitúo en un pueblo de tan solo 100 habitantes que se encuentra en el valle del río Cabriel, en el límite entre la comunidad de Castilla-La Mancha y la Comunidad Valenciana. Este municipio es el lugar donde se crió mi madre, donde viví mi niñez y donde sigo disfrutando, que además cuenta con un paraje insólito.

Por todo esto se desarrolla un complejo para la investigación y protección del medio natural del río Cabriel, con una zona residencial y turística que permita conocer el entorno y concienciar a la sociedad de la importancia del tema en cuestión.

El proyecto se encuentra en una parcela al lado del río que nos aporta vistas y una conexión directa; aprovechando el desnivel se crean terraplenes donde se sitúa el programa que alberga el complejo, dejando en la parte más elevada un recorrido para la parte turística, dotándoles así de una mayor privacidad. Para todo esto se busca un sistema constructivo que relacione entre sí cada edificio y a su vez con la técnica constructiva del pueblo. Para respetar en todo momento la naturaleza, se utilizan materiales naturales como muros de mampostería de la zona, cañas del propio río y tejas árabes.

[EN] The project 'A glance at the Cabriel¿ arises from two main ideas. The first of these is the problem of depopulation in rural areas, what is currently known as 'empty Spain'. The second is the protection of these areas and the environment in which they are located. In 2019, the Cabriel River, a tributary of the Júcar River, became part of the Cabriel Valley Biosphere Reserve. On the other hand, in the same year COVID- 19 appeared, calling attention to the importance of nature and open spaces. Faced with this situation, I am located in a village of only 100 inhabitants in the valley of the Cabriel River, on the border between Castilla La Mancha and the Valencian Community. This municipality is the place where my mother grew up, where I spent my childhood and where I still enjoy it, which also has an unusual landscape. For all these reasons, a complex is being developed for the research and protection of the natural environment of the Cabriel River, with a residential and tourist area that will allow people to get to know the environment and make society aware of the importance of the subject in question. The project is located on a plot of land next to the river that provides views and a direct connection, taking advantage of the slope to create embankments where the programme that houses the complex is located, leaving a route for the tourist area in the highest part, thus providing them with greater privacy. For all this, a construction system is sought that relates each building and at the same time relates it to the construction technique of the village. In order to respect nature at all times, natural materials such as local masonry walls, reeds from the river itself and Arab tiles are used.
