De la ciudad al entorno rural. Experimentación matérica alrededor del tapiz artístico contemporáneo.

Abstract

[ES] El textil nos ha acompañado durante toda nuestra historia como seres humanos y sigue haciéndolo hoy en día. La capacidad que tiene el textil de ayudarnos a comprender nuestra historia a través de metáforas o como símbolo hace que sea un elemento muy usado en el ámbito artístico. Sin embargo, el textil no siempre ha sido considerado un material valido para la creación artística. Durante esta investigación haremos un repaso histórico sobre cómo el trabajo textil y, más concretamente la tapicería, pasó a ser considerado arte contemporáneo. A colación con esta investigación se realizará una serie de experimentos con distintos materiales de origen artificial como pueden ser el cemento, la silicona o la brea de alquitrán, utilizando técnicas artesanales de tapicería, con la intención de observar su comportamiento y posibilidades artísticas. Por otro lado, la investigación gira en torno al concepto de neorruralismo, aportando descripciones y hechos acerca del movimiento migratorio y conjeturas sobre su estado actual. Ello se realiza con la intención de aportar contexto a una obra final realizada con el objetivo de implementar lo aprendido durante las experimentaciones y hacer visible la realidad del entorno rural.

[EN] Textiles have accompanied us throughout our history as human beings and continue to do so today. Textile's ability to help us understand our history through metaphors or as a symbol makes it a widely used element in the artistic field. However, textiles have not always been considered a valid material for artistic creation. During this research we will make a historical review of how textile work, and more specifically tapestry, came to be considered contemporary art. In connection with this research, a series of experiments will be carried out with different materials of artificial origin such as cement, silicone or tar pitch, using traditional upholstery techniques, with the intention of observing their behavior and artistic possibilities. On the other hand, the research also revolves around the concept of neo-ruralism, providing descriptions and facts about the migratory movement and conjectures about its current state. This is done with the intention of providing context to a final work made with the aim of implementing what was learnt during the experimentations and making the reality of the rural environment visible.
