dc.description.abstract | [EN] This paper presents the results obtained in the laboratory for the development of an early leak detection system in slurry storage ponds, through a technological solution based on the use of optical fiber placed as a distributed temperature sensor in the support subsoil of the pond itself. The monitoring system incorporates a continuous fiber optic cable connected to an interrogator and measures the temperature along the fiber with a minimum spatial resolution of 20 cm, after applying a thermal pulse that amplifies the system s response (active monitoring). The different tests performed made it possible to record thermal gradients greater than 6 °C which, in the different simulated hydraulic conditions, allow to interpret the hydraulic situation of the substrate along the optical fiber and thus locate possible water leaks from the storage ponds, thus verifying the adequacy of this methodology to the proposed objectives. | es_ES |
| es_ES |
