Vivir bajo el árbol. Centro de formación profesional e innovación artesanal en Benlloch

Abstract

[ES] El Aeropuerto de Castellón ha generado un conflicto territorial en la localidad de Benlloch, donde ambos actores se desarrollan de manera independiente. El objetivo de este proyecto es establecer una conexión entre ellos para fomentar un crecimiento cooperativo y controlado. Para lograr esto, se ha propuesto la creación de un centro de formación agropecuaria y aeroespacial que combine la tradición y la innovación. Este centro permitirá establecer nuevas relaciones mediante la combinación de usos para los habitantes y los nuevos jóvenes de formación, y fomentar un desarrollo más sostenible en la región.

El proyecto se desarrolla en una zona de expansión de la localidad, y busca conectar tres puntos importantes a través de un recorrido que una la iglesia con los caminos que van hacia la ermita y al cementerio, al mismo tiempo que atraviesa el calvario dándole una segunda vida. El recorrido y la vegetación son dos elementos que van de la mano en Benlloch, ya que adquiere valor cuando se colocan de forma reflexionada con alguna pretensión de crear espacios.

De esta manera, ha surgido la idea de "vivir bajo el árbol", que consiste en transmitir las experiencias de la vegetación del lugar en la arquitectura del edificio para integrarlos y diluir los límites entre ellos. Para llevar a cabo este proyecto, se ha realizado una abstracción de las características estructurales del árbol y cómo una suma de árboles puede generar espacios siguiendo las reglas de la naturaleza y de los marcos de plantación que se encuentran en el lugar. El edificio tiene la pretensión de arraigarse en el lugar como la vegetación que nace del suelo, y como la vegetación planificada, tiene la pretensión de conducir, enmarcar y acoger.

[EN] The Castellón Airport has generated a territorial conflict in the town of Benlloch, where both actors develop independently. The objective of this project is to establish a connection between them to promote cooperative and controlled growth. To achieve this, the creation of an agricultural and aerospace training center that combines tradition and innovation has been proposed. This center will allow for the establishment of new relationships by combining uses for the inhabitants and new young people in training and promoting more sustainable development in the region.

The project is developed in an expanding area of the town and seeks to connect three important points through a route that connects the church with the paths that lead to the hermitage and the cemetery while at the same time crossing the Calvary, giving it a second life. The route and vegetation are two elements that go hand in hand in Benlloch, as it acquires value when placed thoughtfully with the intention of creating spaces.

In this way, the idea of "living under the tree" has emerged, which consists of transmitting the experiences of the vegetation of the place in the architecture of the building to integrate and dissolve the boundaries between them. To carry out this project, an abstraction of the structural characteristics of the tree has been made, and how a sum of trees can generate spaces following the rules of nature and the plantation frames found in the place. The building aims to root itself in the place like the vegetation that grows from the ground, and like the planned vegetation, it aims to guide, frame, and welcome.
