ESTUDIO TÉCNICO Y PROPUESTA DE INTERVENCIÓN DEL MURAL "PENTECOSTÉS" DE JORDI BENAVENT MOLLÁ EN LA PARROQUIA SANTOS PATRONOS BERNARDO, MARÍA Y GRACIA, ALZIRA (VALENCIA).

Abstract

[ES] Este trabajo de final de grado se centra en el estudio técnico de la pintura mural realizada por el artista alzireño Jordi Benavent Mollà en 2001, en la Parroquia de los Santos Patronos Bernardo, María y Gracia de Alzira (Valencia), en la que se representa el Pentecostés.

La obra objeto de este estudio se encuentra en una pared de una sala ubicada en un semisótano anexo a la iglesia que tiene diferentes usos, tanto para reuniones parroquiales como actos litúrgicos. Las principales patologías que presenta esta pintura mural se derivan de los problemas de humedad que afectan al inmueble donde se ubican las pinturas, al ser zona con alto riesgo de inundación. En el trabajo se describen los principales aspectos técnicos de ejecución pictórica, y se analiza su actual estado de conservación, determinando las principales causas de deterioro de la obra. Se ha realizado una completa documentación fotográfica con diferentes técnicas de iluminación y toma de muestras para determinar la técnica pictórica. Tras el análisis técnico del mural, se ha realizado una propuesta de intervención donde se valora la posibilidad del arranque y traslado a un nuevo soporte de la pintura mural, teniendo en cuenta que la inundación de la sala donde se ubica la obra es frecuente.

[EN] This final degree project focuses on the technical study of the mural painting made by the artist Jordi Benavent Mollà from Alzira in 2001, in the Parish of the Santos Patronos Bernardo, María y Gracia in Alzira (Valencia), in which the Pentecost is represented.

The work that is the subject of this study is on a wall of a room located in a semi-basement attached to the church, which is used for different purposes, both for parish meetings and liturgical events. The main pathologies of this mural painting derive from the damp problems affecting the building where the paintings are located, as it is an area with a high risk of flooding. The work describes the main technical aspects of the pictorial execution and analyses its current state of conservation, determining the main causes of deterioration of the work. A complete photographic documentation has been carried out with different lighting techniques and sampling to determine the pictorial technique. Following the technical analysis of the mural, an intervention proposal was drawn up, assessing the possibility of removing and transferring the mural painting to a new support, bearing in mind that the room where the work is located is frequently flooded.
