La arquitectura de lo incontrolable

Abstract

[ES] Lo incontrolable habita nuestra arquitectura y seduce nuestro cuerpo. Su fenomenología ha tallado nuestro instinto y custodiado nuestra cultura dando forma a la arquitectura vernácula de la que descendemos, naturalizando, así, nuestro encuentro con el mundo.

La aparición de la máquina unida a un clima ególatra del gremio arquitectónico, provocó el abandono del cuerpo por la dictadura de la razón, donde el formalismo dio paso a una arquitectura que, desprovista de raíces y cegada ante lo incontrolable, buscaba situar al autor en la élite del panorama arquitectónico. Sin embargo, tras la actual crisis climática, los cadáveres impermeabilizados de aquella arquitectura utópica salen a flote, desprovistos de su aura divina, al auxilio de una sociedad que les ampare.

Parece que, leer nuevamente lo incontrolable intuyendo su universalidad y su erotismo, podría abrirnos las puertas a una arquitectura que, vinculándose con nuestro cuerpo, se equilibre con el medio, aclimatando nuestro aterrizaje a este nuevo mundo.

[EN] The uncontrollable inhabits our architecture and seduces our body. His phenomenology has carved our instinct and guarded our culture, shaping the vernacular architecture from which we descend, thus naturalizing our encounter with the world.

The appearance of the machine, together with an egotistical climate of the architectural profession, caused the abandonment of the body by the dictatorship of reason, where formalism gave way to an architecture that, devoid of roots and blinded to the uncontrollable, sought to place the author in the elite of the architectural panorama. However, after the current climatic crisis, the waterproofed corpses of that utopian architecture come to the surface, devoid of their divine aura, to the aid of a society that protects them.

It seems that reading the uncontrollable again, sensing its universality and eroticism, could open the doors to an architecture that, linking itself with our body, balances itself with the environment, acclimating our landing to this new world.
