Centro de Investigación y Formación Profesional en Benlloc

Abstract

[ES] El presente Trabajo Final de Máster se centra en la construcción de un Centro de Investigación y Formación Profesional dedicado a los estudios aeronáuticos y agropecuarios en Benlloc, Castellón. Se trata de un municipio de alrededor de mil habitantes situado en la comarca de la Plana Alta, en Castellón. El entorno en el que se sitúa está caracterizado por los campos de cultivo que lo rodean -generalmente olivos y almendros-, cuya explotación ha sido la principal fuente de su economía a lo largo de la historia. En este entorno rural se impone desde la Generalitat a principio de los años 2000 la construcción de un aeropuerto, que acaba inaugurándose en el año 2011. La implantación de una infraestructura de tal envergadura implicó un gran impacto en sus inmediaciones, ya que supuso la introducción forzosa de una realidad opuesta al carácter rural de la comarca. La nueva infraestructura de 5.400.00 m2 fue concebida para activar el turismo de la provincia. Al resultar esta operación fallida, hoy en día para rentabilizarlo se destina al desmantelamiento y reparación de aviones, así como a la formación de futuros profesionales del sector, además de para el tráfico aéreo comercial

Esta situación ha desembocado en una doble problemática: la amenaza por la expansión hacia las poblaciones más cercanas, Benlloc i Vilanova d¿Alcolea, y por tanto, la pérdida de identidad de la zona, y la necesidad de encontrar un motor económico que permita el crecimiento del núcleo de población, o más bien, potenciar los que ya dispone.

Así pues, el abordar esta doble problemática mediante la construcción de un proyecto de carácter formativo enfocado en la aeronáutica y la agricultura permite que el pueblo de Benlloc, por una parte, se beneficie de la llegada de nuevos habitantes activando así su economía y beneficiarse de alguna forma de la infraestructura del aeropuerto. Y, por otra parte, el aprovechar los recursos naturales y la tradición agrícola de la zona para ponerla en valor.

Por último, mencionar que el entorno en el que se implanta el proyecto también juega en papel crucial en la intervención. El proyecto se asienta en las orillas del Barranc de les Danses, cuyo trazado define y acota el crecimiento de la población. Así pues, el proyecto investiga sobre los límites entre lo natural y lo urbano, el interior y el exterior y el cómo se relacionan todas las partes con los propios usuarios.

[EN] This Master's Final Project focuses on the construction of a Research and Vocational Training Centre focused on aeronautical and agricultural studies in Benlloc, Castellón. This is a municipality of around a thousand inhabitants located in the Plana Alta region of Castellón. The environment in which it is situated is characterised by the fields of crops that surround it - generally olive and almond trees - the exploitation of which has been the main source of its economy throughout history. In this rural environment, in the early 2000s the Generalitat imposed the construction of an airport, which was finally inaugurated in 2011. The implementation of such a large-scale infrastructure had a great impact on the surrounding area, as it meant the forced introduction of a reality that was the opposite of the rural character of the region. The new infrastructure of 5,400,000 m2 was conceived to activate tourism in the province. As a result of the failure of this operation, it is currently used for the dismantling and repair of aircraft, as well as for the training of future professionals in the sector, in addition to commercial air traffic.

This situation has led to a double problem: the threat of expansion towards the nearest towns, Benlloc and Vilanova d'Alcolea, and therefore, the loss of identity of the area, and the need to find an economic engine that allows the growth of the population centre, or rather, to strengthen the existing ones.

Therefore, by tackling this double problem through the construction of a training project focused on aeronautics and agriculture, the town of Benlloc will benefit from the arrival of new inhabitants, thus activating its economy and benefiting in some way from the airport infrastructure. And on the other hand, to take advantage of the natural resources and the agricultural tradition of the area to enhance its value.

Finally, the environment in which the project is located also plays a crucial role in the intervention. The project is located on the banks of the Barranc de les Danses, whose course defines and limits the growth of the population. Thus, the project investigates the limits between the natural and the urban, the interior and the exterior and how all the parts relate to the users.
