El libro de artista como posibilidad narrativa en 21.000 princesas. Una interpretación visual y textual del feminicidio

Abstract

[EN] This text will analyze the artist book 21,000 princesses (2015), by Ave Barrera and Lola Hörner; work mediated by an artistic and literary process, which stands out for the theme of femicide, treated from a system of stereotyped representations of femininity, in contrast to media representations externalized by the tabloid press. The particularity of these will be discussed, based on the artist's book as a device for thought and action with reference to the social movements of the 21st century, under the premise of the art of denunciation and feminist art. Due to the form and content of this work, between the edited book and the facsimile book, the concept of hybridization will be addressed, based on theories that support it, between the iconographic of representations and the performative of actions, through book publishing criteria of artist, implemented by Clive Philpot, Ulises Carrión and Felipe Ehrenberg.

[ES] En el presente texto se analizará el libro de artista 21 000 princesas (2015), de Ave Barrera y Lola Hörner; trabajo mediado por un proceso artístico y literario, que sobresale por la temática del feminicidio, tratada a partir de un sistema de representaciones estereotipadas de la femineidad, en contraposición con representaciones mediáticas externadas por la prensa amarillista. Se discutirá la particularidad de estas, en función del libro de artista como dispositivo de pensamiento y acción con referencia a los movimientos sociales del siglo XXI, bajo la premisa del arte de denuncia y arte feminista. Por la forma y contenido de este trabajo, entre libro editado y libro facsimilar, se abordará el concepto de hibridación, con base en teorías que la sustenten, entre lo iconográfico de las representaciones y lo performativo de las acciones, mediante criterios de edición en libros de artista, implementados por Clive Phillpot, Ulises Carrión y Felipe Ehrenberg.
