Literatura absoluta y sacrificio. Digresión en torno al libro como obra de arte y como forma de resistencia contra lo social

Abstract

[EN] Sacrifice forgotten, today it is thought that all the product of society, including any artistic expression, must serve the idea of Progress, of the Common Good or of Humanity. Faced with this, Roberto Calasso spoke to us about absolute literature, that is, about those literary works that stand out for their quality, for their «form» and because they are totally refractory to any attempt at social utility. In this way, and following Calasso's thought, after going through the link between secular society and sacrifice, we broke down some characteristics of absolute literature and reflected on the role that publishing art and literature play in modernity. Thus, we look at books as objects that allow us to recognize the divine and at the same time brush against eternity.

[ES] Olvidado el sacrificio, en la actualidad se piensa que todo el producto de la sociedad, incluida cualquier expresión artística, debe servir a la idea del Progreso, del Bien Común o de la Humanidad. Frente a ello, Roberto Calasso nos habló sobre la literatura absoluta, es decir, sobre aquellas obras literarias que sobresalen por su calidad, por su «forma» y porque resultan totalmente refractarias a cualquier intento de utilidad social. En ese tenor, y siguiendo el pensamiento de Calasso, después de atravesar el vínculo entre la sociedad secular y el sacrificio, desglosamos algunas características de la literatura absoluta y reflexionamos sobre el papel que juegan el arte editorial y la literatura en la modernidad. Así, observamos los libros como objetos que nos permiten reconocer lo divino y al mismo tiempo rozar la eternidad.
