La palabra etérea. El texto expandido como vehículo narrativo en la instalación multimedia

Abstract

[EN] Typography takes on special relevance in multimedia installation works where the text expands, giving rise to a multisensory experience. This is how the present research explores the work of artists who use words, observing how they manifest themselves in public space, through programming and network information flows, through interaction with the viewer, and by utilizing neural networks and artificial intelligence.The goal will be to analyze multimedia installations that transcend conventional forms of representation, where the text pushes the boundaries of its own meaning, seeking to understand the contributions that these works are making to the fields of art, science, and technology, and delving into their conceptual and narrative interests.We will see how in these works, the text becomes light, mechanism, circuit, and interactive element, opening up to such relevant topics as information, authorship, the power of written language, among others, providing evidence of the importance of words in changing and shaping reality.

[ES] La tipografía cobra especial relevancia en obras de instalación multimedia, donde el texto se expande dando lugar a una experiencia multisensorial. Es así como la presente investigación, explora la obra de artistas que utilizan la palabra observando cómo se manifiestan en el espacio público, mediante la programación y los flujos deinformación de la red, a través de la interacción con el espectador, y utilizando las redes neuronales y la inteligencia artificial.El objetivo será analizar instalaciones multimedia que trasciendan las formas convencionales de representación, donde el texto expande los límites de su propia significación, buscando comprender las aportaciones que estas obras están dando al campo del arte, de la ciencia y la tecnología, y profundizando en sus intereses conceptuales y narrativos.Veremos cómo en estas obras el texto es luz, mecanismo, circuito y elemento interactivo, que se abre a temas tan relevantes como, la información, la autoría, el poder del lenguaje escrito, entre otros; dando evidencia de la importancia de las palabras para cambiar y construir la realidad.
