Arte, género y sociedad en la trayectoria creativa de Monika Buch

Abstract

[EN] The under-recognition of women in the artistic field has resulted in an incomplete cultural legacy. This article focuses on one of those women, Monika Buch. Valencian by birth with Germanic roots, she was the only Spanish student at the Hochschule für Gestal-tung / HfG Ulm. Her trajectory and her life has been studied through the socio-political framework in which she lived: Spain (II Republic, Civil War, Fran-coism), Germany (post World War II) and Holland (student revolts and feminist liberation movement). Without leaving aside the gender roles and stereo-types established in each period. The aim of this study is to contribute to filling a historiographical gap, and in this way create a fairer and more equitable narrative, which will serve as a reference for future generations.

[ES] El escaso reconocimiento de las mujeres en el ámbito artístico ha dado como resultado un legado cultural incompleto. Este artículo se centra en una de esas mujeres, Monika Buch. Valenciana de nacimiento con raíces germanas, fue la única estudiante española que formó parte de la Hochschule für Gestaltung / HfG Ulm. Para narrar su biografía hemos contado con la propia protagonista y para entender su obra hemos estudiado el marco socio-político en el que vivió: España (II República, Guerra Civil, franquismo), Alemania (post II Guerra Mundial) y Holanda (inicio de la segunda ola feminista). Todo ello sin dejar al margen los roles y estereotipos de género a los que tuvo que enfrentarse. Este est¡tudio tiene como fin contribuir a completar un vacío historiográfico, y de esta manera crear una narrativa más justa y equitativa, que sirva de referente para generaciones futuras.
