La pintura como documento: la representación del paisaje anticipado en la Villa Lante, Villa d'Este y las Villas mediceas en el Renacimiento

Abstract

[EN] The paintings of Villa Lante, Villa d Este and the Medici Villas dating from the 16th century have traditionally been interpreted as mimetic representations to explain the historical characteristics of the place. However, an analysis of the graphic process reveals other circumstances. In this article we suggest that the temporal discrepancy between the place and its representation, where the garden imitates the fresco, could have a contractual justification as a project document. Likewise, an intentional distortion of reality could respond to interests related to property and its commodification. The creation of the landscape and the use of perspective in this context complement a process of territorial domination and contribute to the consideration of a universal, distant and immobile observer. Painting and Architecture are articulated in the selected Renaissance villas and allow us to unravel a new visual sensibility of the territory.

[ES] Las pinturas sobre la Villa Lante, Villa d Este y villas mediceas que datan del siglo XVI habitualmente se han interpretado como representaciones miméticas para explicar las características históricas del lugar. Sin embargo, un análisis del proceso gráfico realizado permite desvelar otras circunstancias. Este artículo plantea que el desfase temporal entre el lugar y su representación, en el que el jardín imita al fresco, podría tener una justificación contractual de garantía como documento de proyecto. Así mismo, una deformación intencionada de la realidad podría responder a unos intereses relacionados con la propiedad y su mercantilización. La creación del paisaje y el uso de la perspectiva en dicho contexto complementa un proceso de dominación territorial y contribuye a la consideración de un espectador universal, lejano e inmóvil. Pintura y Arquitectura se articulan en las villas renacentistas seleccionadas y permiten constatar una nueva sensibilidad visual sobre el territorio.
