Habitando la cantera

[ES] En un entorno paisajístico como el que envuelve a la Vía Verde de Ojos Negros, particularmente en el ámbito de la cantera próxima a la localidad de Navajas, a escasos kilómetros del embalse del Regajo, se levanta un Centro de Interpretación con un área de descanso y albergue. Este conjunto pretende dar servicio a los viandantes y usuarios de la vía, alentando tanto a la población local como a todo tipo de transeúntes y visitantes de la zona, a descubrir el patrimonio industrial, cultural y paisajístico que ofrece este corredor. El proyecto ubicado a escasos metros por encima de la vía se abre hacia la Sierra de Espadán, ofreciendo amplias vistas sobre la comarca del Alto Palancia, al tiempo que se refugia al abrigo de una antigua cantera de la que se servía la infraestructura ferroviaria que da origen y nombre a este proyecto. El proyecto busca poner en valor el entorno de la cantera con dos edificios que conducen y reúnen a los visitantes frente a ella, dando una nueva vida y uso al espacio que las paredes de la cantera abrazan y generan, aprovechando, a su vez, las vistas que este enclave ofrece.

[EN] In a landscape setting such as the Ojos Negros Greenway, particularly in the quarry situated on the area of Navajas, a few kilometers away from the Regajo s Reservoir, an Interpretation Center, a rest area, and a shelter are set to provide service to pedestrians and cyclists, users of the greenway. The visitor center is posited to make both the local population and any other kind of visitors to the area, discover the industrial, cultural and landscape heritage offered by this green corridor. The project located a few meters above the greenway, opens towards the Sierra de Espadán, offering views over the region of Alto Palancia, while sheltering in an old quarry which was used for the railway infrastructure that gives name to this project. The project itself seeks to enhance and draw attention into the quarry with two buildings that lead and bring together the visitors into that location, giving new life and use to the area this quarry conforms, while taking advantage of the views that this site offers.
