| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | [EN] In this work the critical conditions that cause damage by erosion and cavitation in used valves of floodgate in networks of potable water supply are analyzed by means of dynamic simulation MEF. The results are compared with the damage observed in valves that failed during operation and they are used to assess the design modifications that affect the closing of the liquid vein. The conditions of the valve opening, pressure and volumetric flow rate during use control the stages in which the cavitation and the geometric form of the pathology in the body of the valve appear. The methodology applied allows the definition of the deadline state for the usage of this type of valves, that are routinely used in the potable water supply facilities. The working model permits an increase in the life expectancy of the materials, a high efficiency of the supply and a decrease in the operation and maintenance costs. | es_ES |
