Design and characterization of hydraulic car mover

Abstract

The next project has focused on the design of an elevator and conveyor mechanism of vehicles in order to freely move the vehicle by reduced spaces. The structure of the mechanism consists of a structure consisting basically of steel tubes rectangular, between them forming a front carriages and another rear, easily adaptable to all types of car, which consists of two clamps, able to fold it and deploy thanks to the action of hydraulic cylinders. Once is pressed the pedal of clamp, this acts as a pump, making entering the cylinder rod, which is anchored to the other side of the gripper, so it gets close the gripper, and raise the tire from the ground through the friction between the tire and tubes that rotate free. When all four wheels in the air, you can freely move car 360 °, with the strength of an adult person, thanks to its free turn wheels on which the structure is supported. This system has been designed to withstand up to 3000 kg of weight with what is compatible with a wide range of utility present in the market today. Initially exposing the technical characteristics of the type of mechanism that seeks to build and explain the hypothesis of calculation that had taken to get the optimal structure. Then, once obtained the main structure of the mechanism, through the programme of CAD/CAM/CAE Catia V5, you begin to propose and implement new constructive solutions to optimize to the maximum elevator-transporter chassis.
