dc.description.abstract | [EN] Here is presented a summary of what can be found in this document. The first thing to consider is the importance that the supply chain has in an organization. Four key aspects are remarked about supply chain: -An excellent supply chain management is essential to be competitive. Managing it adequately can be the difference between a profitable organization or not. -There is a need for collaboration in every supply chain. Communicate across the networks of partners is the path to success. -Visibility across the supply chain is necessary. A blind supply chain can eventually lead an organization to disaster. -Information technology is a very valuable tool to make improvements across the supply chain and enhance visibility. Cloud computing can be leveraged as an information technology tool to make a more efficient supply chain. It is based on the delivery of computing as a service rather than a product. The most remarkable capabilities of this technology that can be leveraged to be used to improve the supply chain are: - Little or no capital investment. - Pay just for what you use. - Easy and rapid to acquire and deploy. - Increased agility. - Access is independent of the location and of the device. - High scalability. | es_ES |
